It’s a tough time for couples preparing to tie the knot this year. Wedding plans have had to change drastically because of the global coronavirus outbreak.

The government’s recent announcement means that currently, all weddings and large gatherings have to be cancelled. If you’ve spent years planning your perfect wedding, the disruption can be a bitter pill to swallow.

However, during the lockdown, some lovebirds are finding where there’s a will, there’s a way, and tying the knot virtually.

Online wedding planning, Wedfuly, and online conferencing service, Zoom, have partnered during this crisis to provide a virtual wedding ceremony option for couples.

They pulled off their first virtual wedding on Saturday March 28th 2020, with the bride even walking down the isle with a cardboard cut-out of her father!

So how does it work? Between Wedfuly’s planning expertise, and Zoom’s video calling tech, couples can have an ‘authentic’ interactive wedding experience, that’s as close to the real thing as possible.

Wedfuly says: “The collaboration with Zoom is ideal for couples who wanted to keep their wedding date on schedule during these challenging times”.

They’ll even create a timeline for the couple and virtual guests, where guests and be muted and unmuted during the ceremony, with a cue to clap where appropriate.

As fun, and as romantic as this may be, it’s important to remember checking official guidelines that account for your country’s marriage laws during this global crisis. But there’s no doubt, that even during a global pandemic, true love, really does conquer all.
