Surrounded by landscaped parkland, Hylands offers the best of both worlds – a spectacular Grade II* listed mansion with meticulously restored period rooms and a Grand Pavilion presenting timeless glamour. Perfect for the couple with an eye for history and design, the stately mansion provides a stunning backdrop for wedding photographs.
What’s it like inside?
Hylands House has three perfectly appointed rooms in which to hold your nupitals and a further five spaces for the reception. The Drawing Room (pictured right) seats 80 and is an excellent choice for civil ceremonies. The fabulously ornate and gilded ceiling is complemented by hand-painted wall motifs and stunning marble fireplace. The room is completed by the elegant Victorian chandelier and a Cottage Broadwood piano, making it the perfect setting for your ceremony.
How many can we invite?
If you choose the venue’s Grand Pavilion you can welcome up to 300. The space, which launched last year is equipped with mood lighting, a sound system and a bar.
Do they cater?
No, but Hylands House works with a selection of highly experienced and accredited caterers to create your culinary feast. However if you require a very specific traditional cuisine, couples can contact the venue to discuss your food and beverage plans. At Hylands House's discretion, your chosen caterers may be granted full use of the onsite kitchen facilities.
Fall in Love
Hylands Estate is over 250 years old and in the late 18th century, the owner commissioned landscape designer Humphry Repton to redesign the surrounding parkland and enlarge the house in line with the fashionable Romantic movement. Repton’s influence is still seen today, in the white stucco, neo-classical façade and in its natural, spacious exterior. A short walk from the house, our Pleasure Gardens offer colourful traditional and contemporary vistas which provide the perfect backdrop for wedding photos.
A Grand Entrance
The ornate Banqueting Room and Drawing Room allow you to immerse yourself in the utmost elegance and style on your Big Day. Meanwhile, for the brides who wish to create a show-stopping entrance for their wedding, there’s also a spectacular Grand Staircase and Entrance Hall. Decorated with chequered stones it also works as the perfect dance floor and sits wonderfully alongside the Grand Staircase Bar.
