When Two Sisters Married Two Brothers, The wedding Was Nothing But Epic

Amna Hussain married Khaleel Azharee in August 2016 on the same day as her sister Alima and her fiancé Jaleel. She says: “I met Khaleel through our families and as we spent more time with each other’s families, my older sister Alima got to know Jaleel, Khaleel’s brother. I never thought we’d end up sharing our Big Day but despite a 9-year age gap, we’re very close. When it came to planning, I took charge as I’ve always been into organising events. Our joint venue was Kashmir Conference and Banqueting suite in Nottingham, which we picked as it could accommodate our 800+ guest list and it had a lovely walkway and a large stage setting - perfect for us. I went for a fresh floral vintage look which exuded elegance and class.”

The Wardrobe
“I wore a Rani iman lehenga from Pakistan. It was traditonal with a long kameez and skirt in delicate pink and deep burgundy, finished with pearl embroidery and bronze threadwork. Alima wore a Pakistani-style hoor piece with a pale grey and burgundy palette. We had separate stylists to create our looks; I chose Sonia Zarine MUA and Aamir Naveed on hair. Team Alima was Azba Ali MUA and hair by Sophia Quyyum.”

The Décor
“Bits and Blooms UK created our vintage flower wall which sat behind the stage and our centrepieces. Our extra large cake was made by Any Occasion Cakes in Solihull. It tasted as incredible as it looked.”

Videography
“We’d seen Epic Weddings’ work before and were blown away by their talent. As busy people, I liasised with the boss Ather via WhatsApp - every step of the way, he was so accommodating. I explained who the key members of our families were and what I wanted from the film, and Epic delivered. We’re thrilled with the finished clip! Our special day has been captured so beautifully.”
