Available in over 45 countries, the brand has now opened a store in Delhi’s thriving bridal shopping area, Chattarpur. Here’s all you need to know about the space and his stunning latest collection.
Doors In Delhi
The massive 1770 sq.ft. two storied store offers an immersive experience where the couturier’s appreciation for Indian craftsmanship translates into a festive mood. Inspired by the grandeur of Mughal architecture, the walls and pillars are decked in mirrors creating the perfect ambience of the world of Abhinav Mishra. The store is the architectural interpretation of the designer’s aesthetics that honours his legacy and designs.
On the launch of the new store, Abhinav Mishra adds, “A confluence of the old and the new, this space is literally a second home to me that I have personally worked on from day 1. The idea was to create a calming space with natural sunlight, sprawling greens and soft tones with inspiration drawn from my travels and all the things I've loved since childhood.”
On The Racks
This season, the ground floor racks at the store are decked with the designer’s two latest collections- ‘Dilbar’ and ‘Tara Sitara’ along with quick picks of festive and resort wear. Dilbar, Abhinav Mishra's Spring-Summer Collection of occasion wear features twirl-worthy lehengas for brides and eye-catching kurta sets for grooms. Designed to light up your wedding venue through the sun reflecting off the mirror-work, you can choose these pieces for your pre-wedding events.
“I wanted to capture the joy of a summer daytime wedding. I love that Indian weddings are about the bride and groom's large group of friends and family all coming together to celebrate the beginning of a special journey. Dilbar captures some of that anticipation and promise in a collection that encourages you- whether you're the couple, in the wedding party or a long lost friend-to hug a little tighter and love a little more as you raise a toast to the people who make your world go round. Dilbar is a celebration of celebrations itself,” shared the designer.
Tara Sitara is the designer’s interpretation of a couple talking under a night sky full of twinkling stars. The gorgeous collection features sweeping panelled lehengas, intricate blouses, floor gazing shararas and tulle dupattas for brides, and star-kissed kurtas with signature mirror work for grooms. The colour palette inspired by the calmness of a summer night in cool pastels and moonlight neutrals is one to indulge in.
