On 25 June 2021, the actor celebrates her 47th birthday. Now a mother of two, Kapoor’s dressing sense has seen a huge transformation too. Over the past few years, she has put a special emphasis on kurtas and saris, among lounge wear and elevated wardrobe staples. On casual and formal occasions, she has showcased her unapologetic love for Indian ensembles, be it a fashion forward piece like a Payal Khandwala gharara set or an easy-breezy summer silhouette like an Anita Dongre kurta dress. No matter what her choice, she slays every look to perfection.
Often playing muse to brand Raw Mango, the actor even took to Instagram to express her love for handlooms and Indian wear as she donned a gorgeous white and gold traditional Raw Mango sari. Going a step further, last year, she launched an exclusive curation of handloom pieces with the brand, Karisma Kapoor X Raw Mango.
While playing it safe and sticking to classics is always a good idea, Kapoor likes to get experimental with her fashion choices. Channelling her inner fashionista, she seamlessly pulls off off-beat and avant garde looks like the black kurta set with red polka dots.
Taking things up a notch, Kapoor has also nailed the art of adding a contemporary flair to Indian ensembles. From wearing a crisp white shirt under a kurta set to teaming a belted sari with a blazer, with every look she sets the bar even higher.
But when it's the time to sizzle and ensure glamour takes centre stage, the actor doesn't fall behind either. She made heads turn with the dazzling Manish Malhotra sequinned sari that was paired with a backless blouse, and even wowed the crowds when she opted for a floral Sabyasachi lehenga for Sonam Kapoor Ahuja's wedding celebrations. So as the diva turns a year older, scroll on to see some of her best Indian wear looks that left us in awe.
