Here's How Bollywood Stars Celebrated Raksha Bandhan

Come August means the festive season in India is just about starting, and Rakhi marks the beginning of the season. Sunday, August 22, 2021 was celebrated as Raksha Bandha, the festival symbolizing the love between siblings. Traditionally, the age-old practice sees the sister tying her brother a thread known as a rakhi and prays for his long and prosperous life. In return, the brother gives a token of love to his loving sister. This is also a way of seeing the brother’s protection. However, over the years the festival has become far more inclusive with sisters and brothers tying rakhi to the same-sex siblings. Today, it's about celebrating the bond of siblings.

The pandemic-created crisis could not take over the spirit on the occasion and the celebrations were in full swing. Bollywood stars celebrated the festival with zest and zeal, and many took to Instagram to post pictures. From Ranbir and Riddhima Kapoor, the Sanon sisters, the Kapoor clan, to Dia Mirza's newborn, Kiara Advani and Sunny Leone, here's looking at all the cute sibling festivities we spotted this year. Some stars like Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma posted pictures of their at-home Rakhi celebrations, but some others like Soha Ali Khan and Taapsee Pannu posted sweet pictures of themselves with their siblings.
