He had all of us fallen in love with him with his iconic roles in hits like ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, and ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, so this news might break some hearts but mostly fill you with happiness—Farhan Akhtar tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend and actor Shibani Dandekar in two ceremonies. According to sources, their love story began on the sets of a TV show, ‘I Can Do That’ in 2015, where Shibani was a contestant and Farhan was the host. Apparently, sparks flew between them and what initially started out as friendship soon culminated into growing old together.

In the last few years, both Shibani and Farhan have not shied away from posting couple pictures on social media. Be it festival images or a vacation photo dump, the two have always been open about their relationship. While they did not confirm anything about their wedding in February 2022, the couple wed in an intimate ceremony in the groom’s parents’ Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi's Khandala home, near Mumbai.
The decor for the outdoor ceremony was simple yet beautiful. The floral arrangements beautifully matched the bride’s wedding gown. The guest list included some famous faces such as Farah Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Rhea Chakraborty, to name a few.
Shibani was spotted gleaming ear-to-ear in a gorgeous red ensemble. Adding a indo-western spin she ditched the traditional red lehenga for an off shoulder gown teamed with a red veil by JADE by Monica and Karishma. Nude mesh was embellished with red lace, and the star opted for open tresses with soft waves, making the look perfect for a day wedding–and also perfect for the beach. Farhan looked dapper and polished in a crisp black suit with a bow tie and sunnies to complete the look.
And not to forget the viral videos of Hrithik Roshan shaking a leg with the groom on Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara’s popular track Senorita. Grooving to the beats of the music, the two slayed the hook step, leaving us swooning.

Finally to formally tie the knot, the couple wed in a court marriage. The lovebirds posed for a picture after their ceremony and even distributed sweets to the paparazzi waiting outside their home to congratulate the happy couple. Staying in sync with the idea of minimalism, the two opted for pastel ensembles. While Farah picked a beige kurta set with an embellished Nehru jacket, Shibani opted for a traditional sari in a matching tone by designer Anamika Khanna. Further adding glam to the look were the precious jewels from Sabyasachi. A messy bun completed her look to perfection.
The festivities ended with an elegant dinner party at Zoya Akhtar’s home. The inside pictures from the wedding party of Farhan and Shibani have been going viral and we can’t get over the newlywed couple. Shibani was seen wearing a purple dress and the beautiful bride had her hair tied up in a loose bun.
