This ‘Wedding Season’, the bright, bold and beautiful colours of Indian weddings took over Netflix with a cosy rom-com narrative. The storyline was fuelled by the drama-filled Indian matchmaking process which has been proven to be a favourite binge-worthy plot of the platform’s viewers. With the obvious ‘happily ever after’ ending, the Netflix original managed to add to the Bollywood-esque, feel good plots on the platform featuring a complete south Asian cast (first generation included).

Apart from the exciting scenes filled with community gossip and Indian aunties’ drama, the cast’s wardrobe gave us some major inspiration for modern wedding guest fits. Asha Maurya, played by the gorgeous Australian actress, Pallavi Sharda is a relatable character for many career-focused, modern Indian women around the world who are navigating their lives through the traditional pre-set life plans. Curated around the happening life of this character, Asha’s head-turning wardrobe featured a variety of gorgeous wedding looks for the guest on the go.?
As the line-up of what feels like an endless wedding season begins, the vibrant lehenga sets from Asha’s wardrobe start making a debut on the screen. The vibrant colours paired with minimal accessories are a show stealer acing the wedding guest look. The modern blouse designs make for stand-alone pieces featuring playful necklines. The breezy fits made for the perfect wedding looks for you to enjoy the events with comfort and in style.

The ever-green and iconic saree had its own screentime worn by the main character and the many Indian aunties in the movie. While Asha’s saree drape showcased a modern take, the aunties flaunted some traditional woven stunners topped with sass and pizzaz. Overall, the film brought a real-time update of the Indian wedding wear to the screen alongside a clearly visible retention of traditional fits.
