Jahed Choudhury, a 24 year-old from the West Midlands, has become the first openly gay Muslim man to marry his same-sex partner.Bangladeshi Jahed met his now-husband Sean Rogan, 19, in Darlaston on a bench when he was at his lowest and considering suicide.Jahed had suffered a lifetime of abuse because of his sexuality. He had been sent death threats, banned from his local mosque and says he had been the target of severe emotional and physical abuse. The couple had a small ceremony at Walsall registry office wearing traditional wedding attire.Members of both families were in attendance, and Jahed said: “We have had death threats against us and our families. People telling me they are going to kill me and that I should never have been born. They are really vile, horrible comments. But we are so happy we are able to just brush them off. We’ve had an awful lot of support too.”What do you think? Comment here.
