If you're thinking of changing your look ahead of the Big Day but don't want anything too outlandish, hairdresser to the stars Charles Worthington may have just the thing.

Proving that strobing isn't just for the face, Charles Worthington has revealed a brand new Strobing for Hair service which uses the same concept for strobing with makeup on hair.
Strobing for hair involves bringing light to your face with delicate shades of dye. But the question is, how will it look on Asian hair? I visited The House of Charles Worthington salon in Holborn to find out:

When I heard about the newly launched Strobing for Hair service at Charles Worthington, I was intrigued. Strobing is a key SS16 beauty trend and involves contouring with just highlighter instead of dark creams. It's the new season way to get achieve a dewy bridal glow, but how would that translate to hair? I had to find out more.

Katie, my stylist, and I begin by discussing my hair history which includes a few box dyes and a balayage treatment before she assesses the health, condition and cut of my locks. I have a sweeping fringe and thick, long layers that fall to the middle of my back, all in various hues of dark brown and black – standard Asian hair.

Since Strobing for Hair is about illuminating the places where sunlight would normally hit (as with makeup), Katie lightens delicate strips around my forehead, at the temples and along the layers framing my face to achieve a subtle yet sunkissed just-been-on–holiday look. The back of my head gets the merest hint of colour (mostly for continuation) but it's the front of my head where the strobing party's at.

A brief stint under the heaters, followed by a wash, cut and trim and I'm left with a lighter, fresher version of my hair that's perfect for spring. The thin strips of caramel and honey lighten the overall tone of my hair, bathing my face a golden halo. Strobing for Hair is ideal for virgin dyers and bridesmaids as well as Spring brides who want a subtle movement and depth for the Big Day.

Prices start from £70 at Charles Worthington salons.
