We grabbed five minutes with Mickey Contractor, M.A.C's Director of Makeup Artistry in India, to talk all things bridal beauty. Read our exclusive interview below:

You’ve created iconic looks on some of Bollywood’s most famous faces. Who’s face do you enjoy making up the most?
The one face I enjoy working on the most is Aishwarya’s, as my association with her goes back a couple of decades and she is probably the most versatile, apart from being the most beautiful too.

What inspires you?
Anything can inspire me on different days. I take inspiration from nature, conversations, and even events in my daily life.
 
What’s your signature style?
My signature style is a very natural look.
 
What is the ultimate bridal beauty look?
I believe there is no such thing as the ultimate bridal look. A few years back it was the black smokey eyes and a nude lip. These days I am doing a lot of clean eyes with lashes and playing with different reds for the mouth.
 
If you were stranded on a desert island, which three beauty products would you take?
On an island I would need a sun block, lip conditioner and moisturiser.
 
What are the upcoming trends in Asian bridal beauty?
Lots of colour and glitter!

What are your beauty no-nos?
My beauty no-no is lighter foundation to look fairer, overdone brows, and very obvious contouring.
 
What are your beauty tips for grooms before the wedding?
For men grooming is important. Get a manicure, a pedicure and make sure your facial hair is trimmed a few days in advance. On the wedding day just use a light moisturiser and if needs be, a concealer for under eyes. Keeping yourself hydrated would also help.
 
How can grooms wear makeup subtly for their Big Day? 
On the wedding day a moisturiser and a little under eye cover is all a groom needs. Men wearing obvious make up is a big no-no for me. Do not forget a deodorant and cologne.
 
Tell us about your future projects - are there plans for a new collection with M.A.C?
I'm committed to are two films. One with Kareena Kapoor and the other is with Alia Bhatt. As for another M.A.C collection? We'll have to wait and see!
