A dream Dubai proposal

We're suckers for a good love story here at Khush Wedding, but this proposal has given us #majorfeels. 

Beauty blogger and queen of YouTube Kaushal came back from a trip to Dubai with the best souvenir ever – a gorgeous engagement ring! Her long-time beau, who goes by the name Vex King, used the holiday of a lifetime to ask the question of a lifetime… in possibly the location of a lifetime in front of the iconic Burj al-Arab.

He tells us how he popped the big Q...


He says: "Everyone was expecting me to propose, especially Kaushal, so I spent three months convincing her marriage wasn’t a priority. Although it felt cruel, I had to do it to surprise her. I suggested going on holiday to Dubai, and spoke to a number of hotels to get the right setting for the proposal, ideally with the Burj in the background. Jumeirah Beach Hotel (JBH) was perfect. 

I convinced Kaushal that JBH had invited us to a 'private event'. With the okay from the hotel's legal department, I made a fake event invite with a dress code to ensure we were dressed properly for the proposal and convinced her we should go.

I’d hidden the ring in a small box in my hand luggage and was very cautious going through security. I’d even written a note with 'Please keep discreet. Engagement ring inside' in case I got searched. BOTH of Kaushal’s bags were searched in front of us, so of course I broke out into a sweat when I saw my bag coming down the conveyor belt. Luckily, they left my bag alone otherwise there's a very good chance that I would have had to go down on one knee at the airport security check! 

It was all worth it in the end. My plans went smoothly and at the crucial moment, I reached into my pocket, pulled out the ring, got down on one knee and asked the girl of my dreams to be my wife. She yelled “YES!” to my relief and delight. The dream proposal couldn’t have gone any better. We haven’t stopped smiling since."

All together now… Aaahhhhh! Congratulations to the new bride-to-be and her amazingly organised and thoughtful fiancé!
