This couple's underwater wedding is seriously wild

We've been luckily enough to see some amazing wedding images here at Khush Wedding. From epic Bosphorus-side celebrations to events in historic British palaces, we're constantly amazed by the ingenuity of couples who want to add a special touch to their Big Day.

But we can safely say this is the first time we've seen a bride and groom tying the knot underwater. Proving you really can do whatever you like on your Big Day, groom John Martin married fiancé AnaMaria Plumridge at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA) in Clearwater, Florida on Valentines’ Day this year. The centre is a popular tourist attraction in a region visited by over half a million Brits every year.

The scuba ceremony took place under the waves at ‘Mavis’s Rescue Hideaway’, a sea turtle habitat at the aquarium.

Friends, family and the rescued marine wildlife at CMA witnessed the couple “dive” happily ever after, including a turtle that swam by at the vital moment!
Located in St. Pete/Clearwater, the venue is a testament to the couple’s mutual love for the outdoors – in fact they first bonded over their love of water and John proposed to AnaMaria while on a sailing trip.

David Yates, CMA’s CEO said: “The love and passion John and AnaMaria share for the environment, marine life and each other is touching. The opportunity for us to be a part of their special day was an honour for us.”
We love that the bride and groom still dressed suitably for the occasion, wearing a white gown and tux respectively over their wetsuits.
