Nestled in the Alsace greenery, Château Hochberg is a fine hotel. Don't be mistaken; we don't mean fine as in, okay. We mean fine in the way some of the most luxurious and prized things in the world are described; think fine wine, fine art and fine dining. In fact, the Château unites these three elements for a sumptuous escape that’s just under four hours flight from London airports.

The Château’s restaurant is well-known for fine dining and ‘bistro chic’ plates, all paired with wine selected by the Chef Sommelier of Villa René Lalique, a sister property that sits just a few minutes drive from the Château.

The bar, expertly carved from a single block of white quartz, is the perfect spot for drinks before dinner. With exacting standards and a dedication to excellence, the Château salutes Lalique not only in style but also in spirit.

Guestrooms
These are distinctly bijou; with just 15 the hotel never feels crowded giving you time and space to appreciate all the ingenious details - and there are many. Elegant Lalique touches abound, from bathtaps to toiletries and bed linen.

The look is one of pared-back refinement with a palette of warm, neutral hues to capitalise on the light filtering through the windows. Each room or suite is a temple of comfort with huge beds, tasteful furnishings and a walk-in shower.

Musée Lalique
Château Hochberg sits directly opposite Musée Lalique, a shrine to one of France’s most gifted craftsmen. It’s easy to lose an afternoon here marvelling at René Lalique’s career-defining works. The permanent exhibition showcases jewellery, perfume bottles and tableware amongst other treasures. Take a piece of Lalique home with you from the gift shop.

Villa René Lalique
The double Michelin-starred restaurant is within a 10min drive from the steps of the Château, especially easy since it began a shuttle service to Villa René Lalique. It’s an experience that cannot be missed. Full length windows across two walls allow diners to take in country views while dining on caviar, Wagyu beef and Langoustine - all served beautifully on Lalique tableware.

Explore
You’re deep in Château-land, so make the most of it. Check out the historic Château de Lichtenberg and Château de La Petite Pierre, both close by. Meanwhile Strasbourg is an hour’s drive, or 35min by rail from Wingen-sur-Moder station.
