When it comes to menswear fashion in Bollywood, Vicky Kaushal is one of the top names on everyone’s list. Being experimental in his choices, his sartorial looks are almost always appreciated and his penchant for Indian wear is undeniable, especially sherwanis and kurta sets. So naturally, when it came to his wedding wear wardrobe, we couldn't expect anything else but dapper outfits. For his destination wedding in December 2021 in Rajasthan in India, Vicky opted for a number of outfits by Sabyasachi, just like his bride Katrina Kaif. Keep reading to take a closer look at all of his picks.
Channelling his love for muted tones and ethnic prints, his first appearance as a groom-to-be was at the Mumbai airport when he was leaving for Rajasthan. Donning a beige pants with a printed shirt by Sabyasachi, along with tans shoes and a belt, Vicky Kaushal couldn't look happier.
Day 1: The Mehndi
Kickstarting the festivities was the mehndi on December 7, 2021. Vicky opted for a Sabyasachi pistachio kurta and bundi that perfectly matched Katrina Kaif’s multi-coloured lehenga. “Vicky Kaushal wears an embroidered raw silk bandhgala jacket with coromandel chintz prints, a mint silk kurta with embroidered butis and a Bangalore silk ivory salwar,” revealed the designer. Keeping it classic with an edgy touch, Vicky looked suave and embraced the title of a dashing groom to perfection.
Day 2: The Haldi
Carrying forward the celebrations to a day full of dancing and fun was the haldi ceremony. Vicky opted for a casual ivory khadi kurta and salwar for the occasion, twinning with his bride who was dressed in an ivory lehenga. Standing together, we'd say this pair perfectly complements each other.
Day 3: The Big Day
The wedding ceremony was nothing short of spectacular. For the traditional Hindu pheras, the groom opted for an ivory silk sherwani with intricate marori embroidery and iconic Sabyasachi handcrafted gold plated Bengal Tiger buttons, with a silk kurta and churidar. Vicky’s look was teamed with a matching shawl in tussar georgette with a zari marori embroidered pallu and borders.
His gold Benarasi silk tissue safa was paired with a handcrafted kilangi and statement necklace studded in emeralds, brilliant cut and rose cut diamonds, quartz and tourmalines in 18k gold from Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery. Katrina, too, went the traditional route in a classic red Sabyasachi lehenga for the wedding. The Bollywood couple surely slayed in the true Punjabi spirit and we're all for it!
