Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor got married on April 14, 2022. Ahead of the big day, fans and followers everywhere were eagerly waiting for the bride and groom’s images to make it to the forefront. Ever since the bride has posted pictures from inside the wedding, we are swooning over their looks.
On April 13, 2022, Alia and Ranbir’s mehndi ceremony took place at the groom’s residence in Mumbai. The bride wrote, “The Mehendi was like something out of a dream. It was a day full of love, family, our beautiful best friends, a LOT of French fries, a surprise performance by the ladkewalas, Ayan playing DJ, a BIG surprise organised by Mr. Kapoor (my favourite artist performed my favourite songs), all followed by some happy tears and quiet, blissful moments with the love of my life.”

For the mehndi, Alia opted for a printed custom Manish Malhotra bright pink lehenga that was lightweight and stylish. Featuring traditional prints and patch work embroidery, the star chose to keep the focus on her ensemble. The in-cut sleeveless blouse with a slight asymmetrical hemline flattered her body perfectly. Twisted braids teamed with subtle makeup and kundan and emerald jewellery completed her look to perfection. Radiating immense beauty, Alia looked happier than we’ve ever seen her before.
Describing the bride’s outfit, Manish Malhotra said, “The very beautiful Alia chose to personalize her Mehendi ensemble with a sustainable approach, where approximately 180 textiles patches come together to mark her momentous occasion, the most special one indeed. The custom touches reminisce about her journey and depict symbolic elements of her memories.”
Complementing her ensemble was Ranbir’s bright pink Sabyasachi kurta set with bandi jacket. Embracing the monotone trend, Ranbir matched the colour of all three separates for a look that was suave and dapper. Neetu Kapoor took to Instagram to share images from the ceremony where the family members were seen in full action. Minimal yet statement making perfectly describes this power couples style genre.

At the mehndi, spotted were a range of celebrities including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Karan Johar and others. The mother of the groom wore a gorgeous off-white resham lehenga by designer duo Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, while sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni sizzled in a silver sequinned sari by Manish Malhotra. Featuring a halter blouse, she styled the look with a large polki set and kept the makeup minimal for an elegant look. The ever so graceful Neetu teamed her colourful lehenga with polki and emerald jewels.
Following the memo of bling was Ranbir’s cousin, Kareena Kapoor Khan, who opted for a sequinned Manish Malhotra lehenga set. The lehenga was a stunning gradation of pastel hues such as blue, pink and silver. Teamed with a dainty hairstyle with romantic braids, Kareena looked her gorgeous best. Karisma Kapoor kept it simple in a mustard Punit Balana kurta set.
Also seen was the bride’s sister Shaheen Bhatt in a fluorescent green gota patti suit and her mother Soni Razdan in a colourful ensemble. The groom’s cousins Armaan Jain, Annisa Malhotra Jain and Rima Jain were also photographed at the mehndi.
Post the mehndi ceremony, Riddhima and Neetu shared an image giving us a glimpse of the gorgeous henna designs from the festivities. While Neetu Kapoor had her palm filled with henna along with her late husband, Rishi Kapoor's name in the design, Riddhima kept it simple with a bel design.
The same night the family got together with wedding choreographer Masterji–who has been a part of the Kapoor weddings for a while now–for dance practice. Neetu even took to Instagram to share a glimpse of the dance squad. The squad included Ranbir's aunt Rima Jain along with Neetu and his sisters.
