Ahead of the Indian Couture Week, an exclusive silent party of glitz and glamour took over Instagram this week. A staple name for celebrity brides, designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee launched Couture 2022, and it is everything the brides of this year could ever want. The collection revisits many classic elements of the design house alongside embracing the elegance of bridal couture. Featuring the iconic Bengal tiger monogram, the collection also showcases must-have bridal accessories and statement jewellery from Sabyasachi High Jewellery’s Heritage Collection.
At Khush Wedding, we deconstructed the Couture 2022 by Sabyasachi to pen the seven things we love about the collection.
Glittering Glamour
A bedazzling storm took over the designer’s creations for the couture collection. Unlike anything ever seen before at the brand, the looks were drenched from top to bottom in hundreds of hand-cut sequins, bevel beads and crystals.
Tulle Veils
The collection featured a number of looks created with hand dyed tulle embroidered with sequins, semi-precious stones and crystals. They added subtle shiny moments to the glamourous looks like the morning sun shining over river water.
Modest Lines
Sabyasachi’s low necklines have won hearts of many brides across the world. With the Couture 2022 collection, the designer took the challenge of revisiting modest necklines and long sleeves for a strong sophisticated touch.
Sweeping Lengths
The statement looks were stretched above and beyond to incorporate the colour palette of “brooding silver, dusty gold and withering grey.” Each of the outfits was eye-catching right from the handwork on the veils to the heavily embellished hem of the lehengas.
Minimal Accessories
Presented as a complete ensemble, the outfits from the collection were paired with Sabyasachi Fine Jewellery and Sabyasachi Accessories. The pieces perfectly incorporated the essence of the collection while making a statement as stand-alone accessories.
Organza Drapes
Organza has been a favourite for a while amongst brides of Sabyasachi. This collection revealed some graceful embroidered organza drapes perfect for the queen of subtle statements.
Contrast Play
The collection brought together the digital rendering of the hand-painted vintage flora made by the Sabyasachi Art Foundation on organza paired with a sequin blouse. The contrasting fabrics created a unique look for the modern bride.
