Sole Mates: Louboutin x Sabyasachi

Ever since Louboutin-clad models strode down the catwalk for Sabyasachi's 2015 couture shows, we've had our fingers crossed for a collab. The kings of Indian and French couture joining forces? It's a natural fit. 

Now our hopes have been answered. Yes, it's actually happening! Christian Louboutin is releasing a new collection with Sabyasachi Mukherjee, on sale exclusively at Harrods from 11th October (mark your diaries).

The range will include 15 women's styles and four menswear shoes made using off-cuts from Sabya's atelier. 
Louboutin likened Sabyasachi's studio to Ali Baba's cave, saying it's: “a profusion of colours, of beads, and of beauty in general. It’s unreal, you have a lot of beautiful things which are sort of just put on the side, leftovers of things. I thought, instead of wanting to create something very specific and new, it would be very nice to work around things which are already existing and doing a mosaic of all those little bits and pieces."

As one of the world's best known footwear designers, Louboutin is celebrating the label's 25th anniversary this year, making his partnership with Sabyasachi even more important. And he's a big-time fan of Indian couture: "The luxuriance of Indian couture is unparalleled, things you see in India you see nowhere else."One thing's for sure; this collab is what bridalwear dreams are made of.
