Feminine, grand, opulent and elegant, his intricate thread work detailing wins everyone's heart. The ace designer showcased his latest couture collection 'Noor' at FDCI's second digital edition of India Couture Week.
The collection takes inspiration from an exciting journey of young lovers, secret love notes, stolen glances, and the importance of celebration in life. Depicting real-life scenarios and weaving his couture collection 2021, Suneet says, "I understand the importance of finery and couture at an Indian wedding, and I also understand the needs of the modern young Bride and Groom- whether the wedding is a lavish one or an intimate elopement"
Soft pastel hues like mint, ice-blue, blush and yellow characterise make the colour palette. Adding opulence to the ultra-feminine, soft, flowy silhouettes is tone-on-tone embroidery in delicate glass beads, crystals, and thread work. Key silhouettes and trends include sheer sleeves, off-shoulder necklines, and deep scalloped backs that make for a sensual yet modest young bride. Spotted were kali skirts with long trails, sheer, mysterious veils in tulle, and sharara sets in silk georgette.
The grooms wear line consisted of easy, pastel-coloured sherwanis with thread embroidery and modern hemlines. Whereas the wedding collection is a celebration of varied shades of ruby, sindhoor, and sienna reds with embroidery in gold zari thread work with silver zardosi, giving it a modern touch.
Staying true to his passion for creating new embroidery techniques, he mixes old traditional arts with a modern shapes and silhouettes for the new-age bride.
