The last two years have been a tough ride for everyone. Finding calm within the chaos has been harder than ever, and even more so finding love. But it has helped us reassess what is most important in our lives. And for our couple-in-love, Oritsé Williams and Kazz Kumar, it was the company of one another. Oritsé admits, “Sometimes it can be challenging as Kazz has scheduled days of work, whereas mine can be very sporadic. Kazz and Oritsé are the kind of next-door-couple who you want to invite over for a double date dinner. In his attempt to put their couple vibe into words, Oritsé chooses music. That is what our vibe as a couple feels like,” he says, while Kazz picks a different lane. She says, “Fashion-wise; we are edgy, innovative, unique, and not afraid to try new looks. I say we are loving, supportive and always there for our friends and family. We want to spread positive vibes at all times.”The Sound Of Love For Oritsé, music has always been his language of love. “Some songs that I wrote before coming off tour with my group, I feel have been almost like affirmations for me. The song ‘Perfect’ which I wrote and sang to Kazz when I proposed to her especially feels that way. It’s like I wrote about her in my life and she appeared.” Kazz shares about how music plays a role in their time together, “I was an artist back in the day and so we find ourselves in the car debating harmonies, production, melodies and lyrics. It brings together architectural inspiration as well as healing plants of the islands. The stone set in the ring is a pink sapphire, which I flew in from her homeland, Sri Lanka.”The Road Ahead Looking forward to tying the knot this year, the couple gives us a sneak peek into their dream wedding. Kazz excitedly shares, “I’m hoping for a simple wedding but OTT on the atmosphere. Maybe some steel drums with a mix of Sri Lankan drums.” To celebrate their big day and the merger of both of their cultures, the couple is set to have “one fused ceremony” with more than one event. They look forward to having guests dressed in fusion attire and even jazzing it up with Caribbean and Sri Lankan food and music at the reception. I want culture and good vibes to be at the heart of our wedding.” Head over heels in love with each other, the pair is looking forward to their future together.
