Getting married and feeling on top of the world? Celebrate in style at the capital’s newest skyscraper, 20 Fenchurch Street, the latest landmark building to join the iconic London skyline.

The enlarged glass dome sitting at the top of the structure is home to Sky Garden; three storeys of exquisitely landscaped public gardens and exclusive social spaces, including observation decks and an open air terrace. It’s main draw is undoubtedly the unobstructed 360° views across the capital, as well as the triple celebration of flora, fauna and food, all encased in a stunning atrium of glass and steel a dizzying 36 floors above street level.

The space includes two fabulous restaurants, Fenchurch Seafood Bar & Grill and the Darwin Brasserie, as well as the SkyPod Bar, perfect for pre-wedding dinner and drinks with friends.

Why go?
London’s trend for high rise dining continues with the Darwin Brasserie in Sky Garden. Once you’ve cleared the airport-style security on the ground and soaked up the views from the public observation decks, it’s only one more floor upwards to heavenly food.

Garden in the clouds
The huge airy space is lined with richly planted terraces and exquisite Mediterranean and South African plant species. Each has been specifically been chosen to work with the quality of light under the roof canopy.

Colour and flowers flourish year round and amongst the flowering plants are African Lily, Red Hot Poker and Bird of Paradise interspersed with fragrant herbs including French Lavender and Rosemary.

The Food
The Darwin Brasserie sits in a glass cube within Sky Garden, creating a gastronomic bubble inside a bubble. Seasonal, home-grown ingredients take centre stage, offering a menu of classic dishes presented in a wonderfully contemporary way.

Appetisers include prawn cocktail with a Bloody Mary dressing and salmon with horseradish crème fraîche and citrus dressing – the clean flavours working perfectly for summer. The best of British vibe continues with mains such as fish and thick-cut chips, Goodwood ribeye steak and grilled lemon sole.

Thankfully the prices aren’t as sky high as the location, and mains courses averaging at £18, making the Darwin a great choice for a spectacular experience that won’t break the bank. Whether you’re planning a leisurely lunch with the girls or a full on celebration dinner, brides and grooms-to-be will enjoy high class dining at London’s loftiest brasserie.
