Relax and recharge after the Big Day celebrations are over in Kensington's chicest boutique hotel - The Ampersand. Positioned in a prime location, the luxury hotel is a stone's throw from some of London's most celebrated museums, sights and restaurants. But while there's plenty to see and do on its doorstep, newlyweds will find it a tricky task to pull themselves away from the charms on offer within The Ampersand's walls. Each of the hotels 111 rooms and suites are decorated around five central concepts; astronomy, geometry, music, ornithology and botany. The plush deluxe studios provide the perfect setting for the first few nights of married life; a smart colour scheme, large windows and blissfully bouncy beds are softened by floral-inspired furnishings, while LCD TVs, a media hub and WiFi allows you to stay connected to the world beyond your newlywed cocoon. The Luxury Suites on the fourth and fifth floor are decorated with geometry as the focal inspiration and it's easy to see why, given the spectacular views over London's jagged rooftops from its floor-to-ceiling windows. The Suites house everything a newly hitched couple might need - microwave oven, freestanding bath and even a sitting room - to enjoy uninterrupted time together as Mr and Mrs. Doubles and Superior rooms, while smaller, retain all the quirky details and sophisticated charm that is The Ampersand's hallmark. The Ampersand's eclectic style extends beyond the bedrooms and suites. Take a trip down to the basement to sample the delights of Apero, The Ampersand's restaurant and bar. Dressed in polished white metro tiles and exposed brick walls, the light-filled modern eaterie plates up delicious yet simple dishes from the Mediterranean. Sit down for an aperitif at Apero's glamorous bar before a tasty dinner of lamb with pomegranate and fennel, or smoked aubergine with artichoke, pear and goat's curd. Finish with a classic Italian tiramisu or the delectable saffron panna cotta for a post wedding dinner that's a celebration all of its own. Alternatively enjoy a sensory rich afternoon tea in the Drawing Rooms. Part English drawing room, part 'salon de thé', with deep sofas and studded armchairs in scarlet velvets and kingfisher blues, The Drawing Room is the place to enjoy pretty pastries, exceptional teas, freshly-pressed coffees and Afternoon Tea. With a whimsical surprise around every corner, luxurious bedrooms and superb food and drink, The Ampersand has everything newlyweds need for a city centre escape.
