Ragley was the stately setting for the hit film ‘The Scarlett Pimpernel’ and the series ‘Doctor Who’. Ragley also became the home of Lady Cremone in BBC Two Drama Dancing on ‘The Edge’. Among the many projects, the one that stood out was the award-winning Netflix drama series, ‘The Crown’. The first episode of season four began with Ragley’s Great Hall as the backdrop for the first encounter between Charles and Diana. The Hall can also be seen again, in episode 3 of the series, in which Ragley’s Vaulted Hallway received a dramatic makeover, transforming the space in to the environment of a Buckingham Palace Kitchen.
The Venues
From the Rococo styling of The Great Hall to the extravagant design scheme of the Red Saloon, every venue here can translate the couple’s dream wedding. With exquisite interiors and the larger-than-life 40-feet hand-plastered ceilings, The Great Hall is a traditional, yet iconic ballroom apt for a banquet-style celebration for 180 guests.
If you’re envisioning a larger, luxurious marquee celebration, book The Rose Garden that has a capacity for 500 guests. The Formal Gardens is an incredible choice for lavish outdoor festivities to accommodate 1,500 guests. For extravagant parties, weddings of any size can take place in a marquee on their grand Polo Field with the backdrop of the Hall or serene lakeside setting.
For an intimate occasion of 104 guests, the Red Saloon makes for a memorable pick. It boasts opulent décor, Louis XVI furniture and a beautiful silk damask. The Vaulted Hall transforms into a contemporary reception space, featuring a beautifully vaulted ceiling, original flagstone floors, a giant mirror ball, a white LED dance floor, mirror panelled bar and bespoke artwork.
