Did You Notice The Sabyasachi Bride And Groom In Tom & Jerry: The Movie

We’ve all grown up watching the mischievous antics of Tom and Jerry. Whether you relate with Tom or Jerry, this cult cartoon show holds a special place in our hearts, and your childhood would have been incomplete without it. A few decades later, the cartoon has been adapted into a film by Warner Bros. And the just-released film is quite frankly everything you’d expect it to be.

The animation series, Tom & Jerry has been the reason behind a million smiles for decades and the recently released live-action film Tom & Jerry roped in London-based store Aashni + Co to dress the ensemble cast. “Being a small part of this iconic movie has definitely been an important milestone in the Aashni + Co journey. The privilege of being associated with the cult animation series is something we are truly excited about,” shares the Aashni + Co team.

The film’s Indian wedding scene features Pallavi Sharda, Colin Jost and Chloe Grace Moretz among others, where the cast can be seen dressed in Sabyasachi and Anushree Reddy ensembles. But when it came to the big day, and the most important people—the bride and groom—Aashni + Co picked breath-taking Sabyasachi ensembles in a muted colour palette.   

With larger than life Indian couture and extravagant décor, the wedding scene pays homage to the grandeur and opulence of the Indian celebrations. For the D-day sequence, the bride (Pallavi Sharda) is spotted in a beige Sabyasachi lehenga with intricate detailing that matches the colour of the groom’s (Colin Jost) Sabyasachi sherwani. Adding to the look are is the tradition of the red choora. The bridal look is seamlessly tied together with traditional Indian uncut diamond jewellery and minimal makeup for a flawless finish. All these elements together transports the viewer into a real-life celebration.

As a prelude to the wedding festivities, Pallavi donned the cream Sabyasachi lehenga that featured embellishments in hues of pastel pink, turquoise and mint green with a knotted white tee. Giving it a modern yet chic look, the T-shirt and lehenga look was styled ensuring comfort remained a priority. That right there is a fashion tip to take note of! Pair a heavy lehenga with a basic blouse or tee, and if you want to amp it up throw on a rani haar and statement-making earrings. Complete the look with a potli bag.

Playing a wedding guest, Chloe Grace Moretz was aptly dressed in an Anushree Reddy powder pink lehenga for the celebrations. The colour complemented Chloe’s character and had the perfect balance of elegance and extravagance. Floral thread work motifs and gotta patti work decorated the lehenga, blouse and dupatta, giving it an feminine vibe.
