Pooja Jain married James Barber in June 2016. She says: “We first met at work in 2010 where we trained as chartered accountants. We began dating and in May 2015, James whisked me away on a surprise weekend minibreak to Barcelona. Little did I know he was planning to pop the question! It was perfect; he went down on one knee and everything, the works! After deciding on June 2016 for the wedding, we began planning.
The Pre-Wedding Shoot“We wanted a pre-wedding shoot in Rome, so we flew to Italy with Eye Jogia in tow. The pictures are absolutely beautiful! Eye Jogia captured us in the city I love with the man who stole my heart.”
The Religious Ceremony “For the Hindu ceremony, we wanted an outdoor venue so holding it on the River Thames suited us perfectly. We had the marquee decorated with fresh flowers to tie in with our open-air setting. It was a risk to be outside, but we were lucky the weather behaved itself on the day! Rather than horseback, James arrived by boat with his best man and groomsmen.”We are family: Pooja and James held their traditional ceremony in an outdoor mandap on the banks of the Thames.
The Bridal Look“For the traditional wedding I wanted to look like the quintessential Indian bride. I asked my makeup artist Ksavi to create a timelessly elegant look and she did it perfectly. My mehndi, done by Mehndi Creations by Khilna Shah, had been done a few nights before and deepened to a rich mahogany shade.“
