Rhea Kapoor, the daughter to popular Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor, is an award-winning film producer and a well-known fashion stylist with an impeccable taste in fashion. On August 14, 2021, Rhea tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend, film director and producer Karan Boolani. The duo, who have been together for 12 years, decided to get married in an intimate ceremony earlier this weekend.
The adorable couple took to social media to share the lovely news as they posted a picture of the ring exchange from the festivities to make it Insta-official. Rhea captioned the image, "12 years later, I shouldn't have been nervous or overwhelmed because you're my best friend and the best guy ever. But I cried and shook and had stomach flips all the way through because I didn't know how humbling the experience would be. I'll always be that girl who had to come home to Juhu at 11 pm before my parents fell asleep. Only until now I didn't know how lucky I was to feel torn. I hope we make a family so close that we have many, many loves of our life."
Expressing his true feelings, Karan shared a different picture on captioned, "Yesterday we made it official to the world… but you and I have been ride or die for over a decade and for that i would like to thank four people who have given me a crazy amount of love, respect, encouragement and constant collaboration. First is a film producer, the second is a fashion stylist.. the third is the mother of my daughter lemon and the fourth is the finest cook to have performed miracles in a domestic kitchen..and their names are Rhea Kapoor. To the best decision I’ve ever made. Here's to us and everything that awaits us together"
Playing stylist to her sister and favourite muse Sonam Kapoor Ahuja time and time again, Rhea has proven her immaculate sense of style. With a love for off-beat sartorial pieces, we couldn't have expected a traditional bridal look from the fashion maverick. And yes, her look was anything but conventional. Opting for a pristine white Anamika Khanna sari with a white and gold thread work detailed blouse, Rhea looked dreamy and straight out of a fairy-tale. While the sari itself was minimalistic, it was teamed with a dupatta that featured large motifs in gold hues.
But, the eye-catching feature of her bridal look was undeniably her beaded veil. Making a strong fashion-statement, Rhea showed us a new and avant-garde approach to Indian wedding wear and we are all for it. She glammed up the look with exquisite kundan and pearl jewellery including a long haar, haath phool, jhumkis and gorgeous kangans, proving that a white wedding lehenga can look as good as a red one. Complementing her white ensemble was Karan's beige Kunal Rawal embellished sherwani.
Rhea Kapoor wanted to run away and get married in her living room, and making her dream come true was a dream team. Creating an ambience that was breath-taking was the decor and wedding favours by Rani Pink, wedding design by Amit Lata and Karan Singh Parmar, DJ AJ's beats, Indian Accents delicious food, and of course, Reels and Frames captured every moment to perfection.
The guest list was limited to just their family for the wedding celebration, while the reception saw a star-studded guest list including their close friends and family in the industry. For the wedding day Sonam opted for a Anamika Khanna anarkali, while Anshula and Shanaya opted for ensembles by Arpita Mehta. Adding oodles of sparkle was Janhvi Kapoor in a Manish Malhotra lehenga set. When it came to the men of the family Anil Kapoor looked dapper in a kurta set, Arjun Kapoor chose a Kunal Rawal blue kurta set and Anand Ahuja teamed Rajesh Pratap Singh jodhpuris with a grey bandhgala looking dapper.
