It seems like wedding bells are in full swing for Bollywood's most coveted couple, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Being one of the top actors of the Hindi film industry amongst their contemporaries, this power couple is surely the talk of the town. We've all been eagerly waiting for the day when Alia and Ranbir tie the knot, and speculations have been making the rounds since 2020. But this time things finally seem like they are falling into place.
Since last year, the couple was often spotted outside their new home with mom Neetu Kapoor keeping a close eye on the development of the building. Their new pad is situated in Bandra, Mumbai and the couple are set to move in post their wedding. According to sources, the home even has a room dedicated to their late father Rishi Kapoor.
On April 11, 2022, the wedding venues–RK Studios, Krishnaraj Bungalow and Vastu–were decorated with lights. Also spotted outside their home were Sabyasachi outfits being delivered, and hence it's safe to say that wedding bells are in full swing. Ahead, we are tracing the duo’s relationship timeline.
The Childhood Crush
During several interviews, Alia Bhatt has confirmed that she had a crush on Ranbir ever since she was a child, and she also expressed her infatuation for the star on the coveted ‘Koffee With Karan’ talk show couch. The couple first met on the set of the movie ‘Black’ when Alia was only 11, and Ranbir was the assistant director for the film.
The Budding Romance
They were too young during their first interaction, but filmmaker and common friend Ayan Mukerji brought them together for his film ‘Brahmastra’ in 2017. Soon, the co-actors fell in love on the sets. It was only in 2018 that the couple made an appearance together at Sonam Kapoor Ahuja's wedding. That was when we all knew the stars were together.
The Family Gatherings
Post their appearance together, Ranbir finally confirmed his relationship with Alia in a magazine interview. He mentioned that their relationship was “new” and needs time to breathe and that they want it to cook a bit. Soon after, Alia opened up about her romance with Ranbir on social media, and the families were spotted together for celebrations like New Year's Eve, the annual Kapoor Christmas Lunch and even very recently on a family vacation in Ranthambore.

But no matter what is said or done, we've all been eagerly waiting for the day when Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor tie the knot.
