Europe-based Dyana Dessars’ Luxury Weddings & Celebrations has been a leader in the event industry for over 16 years, with an expertise in South Asian weddings. A full-service wedding planning and design firm, they are most renowned for their out-of-the-box concepts and décor. Dyana Dessar and her team take on only a handful of weddings each year to ensure exclusivity for every couple. It is this attention to detail that has helped them build an impressive portfolio of weddings in the UK and overseas. “We have worked for years learning about every aspect of an Indian wedding, from the pre-events to the wedding rituals and all the important ingredients to make the perfect Indian wedding, regardless of the country our couples decide to tie the knot in,” shares Dyana.

Ahead, the wedding maestro shares the biggest trends couples need to bookmark for their 2023 wedding.

Pastel Pleasures

“We are seeing brides move away from the traditional reds for outfits. Brides will be looking more to pastels. Think peaches, pale pinks, pistachio greens, ivories and other really soft colours, with grooms complementing and mirroring the bride in their outfit colours,” shares Dyana.

Food Philosophy

“Food at events will be more international, especially for European destinations. Couples are keen to bring the cuisine of their chosen destination into play. For example, at the sangeet night, instead of the traditional street foods, we are having food stations offering a fusion of local dishes. In Spanish destinations, we are transforming it into a fiesta night bringing together the colours and fun of sangeet with the colours and flavours of Spain in a perfect mix. We take the same route when executing a wedding in Italy, Portugal or any other place. We are, of course, making sure that everyone enjoys the perfect Indian cuisine for the wedding day,” she adds.

Flower Power

“The florals will depend on where we are, as winter in a sunshine island can still be very tropical with the flowers of the island. Bird of paradise flower is stunning for big arrangements and centre pieces. Of course, white roses are a hit all-year around and are one of my favourite choices.”

Green Mile

“If you want to bring in some contrast, keep lots of greenery with olive leaves and eucalyptus. I love the comeback of the grass and foliage. Plenty of lush green with with pops of colour and a touch of gold is just beautiful,” adds Dyana.

Make An Entrance

“Groom's entrances are getting more and more adventurous. We had a groom arriving for his baraat this season by helicopter, which was a huge success and surprise for the guests. Grooms are keen to make an entrance based on their personal preference and style. We are even seeing more brides wanting to have their own baraat,” shares Dyana.
