We have all heard stories and seen videos of brides getting caught up in micromanaging details such as the stage backdrops or the perfect song of their bridal entry. If you wish to stray away from these details, working with someone who can be trusted to take care of all your event management needs is essential. And with over 20 years of collective experience, 1SW Events is just who you need to make your event happen uninterrupted. Known for going above and beyond client’s expectation, the company has put together decor and planning at some of the UK’s most prestigious venues such as V&A museum, Grosvenor House and The Dorchester. Co-founder Timmy Kader shares insights on this year’s biggest wedding trends.
Summer Staples
With summer weddings lined up to spread love in the air, the leading planning and decor expert Timmy suggests a few of his personal favourite flowers to include. “Ecuador roses as they are huge and open up the size of your palm in the summer, Delphiniums as they are so big in summer and in trend. They add height and drama and are usually up to 1 metre tall. Peonies are at their best in May, June and particularly good for their scent.” She suggests adding foliage to the mix as “it plays a big part in the flower arrangements.” Her personal picks are “all varieties of eucalyptus and olive foliage” for OTT backdrops and overhanging arrangements. “Filler flowers are in abundance in summer like aster that are ideal for creating forest or garden style.” The fearless choice of going bold on the decor colours is one to be tested, says Timmy. Asian weddings known for the bright, colourful events are all about colour blocking. Timmy dives into the details of this season’s best, “coral is a favourite as it brings together the pinks and reds which is very typical for most Asian weddings. It also stands out in outdoor weddings.” For a bride who loves to indulge in muted colours, “nudes like beige, caramel, ivory and blush is a popular combination. Incorporating the trending pampas grass alongside these shades is ideal.
Wedding Themes
For the minimalist couple, “I suggest a French Renaissance theme with Rococo furniture because that’s where the details matter with the gold gilt candelabras with tall tapered candles, luxury linens and folded napkins with printed menu cards” says the expert for a small wedding.
For the couple who prefers classicism, “I think a classic theme is one which is very organic, garden theme with lush foliage and English roses. Think of a secret garden with rustic tables and chairs, heavy cotton linens in pastel shades, all enhanced with natural lighting.”
