Your wedding photos will not only be one of the most important parts of the big day, but treasured keepsakes for years to come. It’s why coming up with a detailed plan of must-have photo ideas is essential during the early stages of your planning process. Gagan Sharma behind Photography By Gagan suggests making a mood board of bridal shots, couple portraits, family photos and even bridesmaids pictures. The Khush Wedding in-house expert is considered as the most wanted destination wedding photographer, thanks to his art of capturing love stories in an editorial way.
“Getting me onboard begins with sitting down and working closely with these amazing couples. This allows me to understand their chemistry and what they are trying to achieve with their wedding photos. Being prepared is crucial to me. I allot plenty of time to research the destination and various venues and spaces beforehand,” he says. For the bride and groom aside from the ceremony, couple portraits should be the main focus, Gagan recommends. From natural light to interior design and outdoor spaces, he’s known to go all out to understand every aspect of the wedding venue to capture couple portraits that look diverse and unique. “The essence is to build it all up with these different elements, so it tells a heart-warming story,” he explains.
Much like pre-planning, Gagan also emphasises on giving couple portraits enough time on the wedding day itself. He says, “It’s always great to a get at least a good hour in. Some destination venues have a lot of grounds to cover to get beautiful variations. It’s wise to think about the in-between travelling in around the venue too.”
To ensure you step away from same old poses, use these beautiful shots by Gagan as inspo for imagining up your own.
The Kiss
The seal it with a kiss shot is a must. Gagan prefers to create a non-obstructive environment with no audience. This allows for personal and intimate moments to come through.

Look Back
For something that looks a little less staged, bookmark this picture where the bride is elegantly looking behind while the groom is capture admiring her.
The Big Entry
While there’s always an emphasis on capturing the bridal entry, Gagan says not to forget the couple’s.
