Surrounded by ornamental lakes and gardens and featuring a moated island, Preston Court lies on the site of a medieval palace. In the 12th century, this was the home of the wealthiest woman in England, Juliana de Leybourne. She owned many manors in Kent but Preston Court was her favorite residence and today the remains of her medieval palace lie scattered beneath the grounds. Now a conservation area, Preston Court Farm has a variety of heritage buildings and a pretty rural Parish church, all wonderfully placed to hold your nuptials. Home to many animals and rare birds, the grounds stretch out to bluebell woods and a wetland nature reserve of almost 600 acres. The traditional Kentish barn can accommodate wedding ceremonies and parties with the Steam Museum collection providing a unique backdrop. The Museum features all manner of old fashioned machinery, from steam traction engines and vintage fairground rides, to stationary engines, railway locomotives and impressive mechanical organs. It makes a wonderful ‘altar’, creates a stunning backdrop for wedding pictures and provides a fabulously eccentric focal point to entertain you and your guests. Meanwhile the Kentish barn can seat up to 120 guests for ceremonies and receptions, with a maximum capacity of 250 guests in the evening. Whether you want a traditional wedding, or are looking for something extraordinary, Preston Court has a range of themes, plans and decor concepts which can be tailored for the wedding of your dreams. The friendly and experienced team at Preston Court is on hand to recommend highly professional wedding coordinators who are familiar with the venue and would only be delighted to discuss your plans for the Big Day.
