Jewellery designer Anisha Parmar married Vikesh Tank on 14th February 2017. She says: “Vikesh and I met at uni and were good friends for years, but I had no idea he had a little crush on me the whole time! After graduation, he finally asked me out on a date!
He proposed in Central Park, New York City. Most people would have a speech planned but he was so nervous, he just blurted out “Well, will ya?”. I said, “Go on then” and we were engaged!”
The Venue
“We had the venue in mind; a boutique hotel on a private beach called Praihna Resort by the Sea Goa. It was the perfect size and we reserved nearly all 45 rooms which meant our guests got to know each other and mingle.”
Wedding style
“At Este Couture the possibility of designing my own lehenga was real. Vikesh bought his outfit afterwards so that it matched my look. He loves dhotis so a simple kurta with a coral dhoti was perfect!
Amreet from True Beauty Aesthetics was my beauty guru and did my hair and makeup for all the events. She got what I wanted perfectly.”
“Our outfits inspired the décor; gold, coral, cream and yellow with lots of fresh flowers. Vikesh arrived on a cycle rickshaw. I didn’t want a sad tearful farewell, so we had music blaring and confetti before cycling into the sunset together.”
Food
“The hotel catered our entire event. At the welcome dinner we served our guests authentic Indian and Goan dishes, while for the mehndi we picked Indian street food stalls with snacks like pau bhaji, vada pau, dahi puri, biriyani, gulab jambu and much more. I was too busy dancing to even eat that day, one of my biggest weddings regrets!”
