“Prior to setting up 1SW Events, we were both designing bridal clothing and jewellery for about 10 years,” reveals Timmy, whose family opened one of the first fashion stores in the UK. The duo’s fashion background and in-depth knowledge on fabrics, embroideries, crystals, gemstones and colours has also helped them immensely to focus on the minute details to create a mammoth impact. “We take style influences and marry them with our global intuition and experience to create a celebration that is one of a kind,” shares Timmy. The Starting Point
1SW Events is a 360-degree service event design and planning company. With several full-time associates working under Timmy’s guidance, they bring to the table their strongest skill sets to create flawless events. From conceptualisation to administrative tasks, they take care of everything. “The whole process starts with an initial discovery call, where we understand your requirements, the space you are booking and any ideas that you have and you’d like to see in your décor. Budgets and pricing are also discussed on this call because it’s important to establish whether we are the right fit. This process is the same for the wedding planning or styling,” shares Timmy.
Although a preliminary catch-up, Timmy makes time for a complete understanding of the couple. Her dedication is reinstated with the fact that the first call is complimentary for every client and she goes the extra mile by even offering some recommendations. “The idea to keep the first consultation free is so that it gives the bride or groom the opportunity to off load all the questions they have. We usually find that when they first decide to get married, we are the first point of call and then in most cases, also the last one when they on board us as their wedding team,” shares Timmy.
The Detailing
Whether you have dreamed of an intimate beach wedding in Asia or a large castle one in Europe, 1SW Events expertly navigates the planning of luxury celebrations at any scale and size. “We only accept a certain number of weddings per year, so we can commit our complete dedication and time to each event and client,” shares Timmy. This is why 1SW Events is most popular for their attention to details and customising every aspect to the T. “We go into full event design, and not just planning one element of the wedding. We do a lot of bespoke designs. For example, if you’re planning a ceremony, then it’s not just the mandap that matters. The whole space of and around the mandap is just as crucial. It’s important to start the styling right in the beginning. We factor in all elements, from the backdrop and the ceiling height to the natural light and weather. We usually start with the colour palette. To help our clients visualize the idea, we create renders and mood boards. These go through changes on many occasions and helps gauge the pricing. Post which we do real life colour sampling and mockup of their flowers so they can plan their outfits too.”

“Long gone are the days when you sat down with your decorator and went ahead with décor and design that was in the pictures in their albums. At 1SW Events, we really push the envelope to bring in that wow factor. This doesn’t mean adding more flowers, we go the extra mile with the overall concept and execution of every event and element of the wedding. Be it flowers, table, centrepieces, ceiling and the works and see the space as a whole,” explains Timmy.
Speaking of trends, she says, “Don’t chase trends. Timelessness is what we aim for, while keeping up with your style and preferences. We want you to look back at your wedding pictures and treasure them. Pampas grass is a very good example of a recent trend. But it doesn’t suit every venue or season. If you’re getting married at a luxury hotel’s banquet, it will not work. That should be your cue for your bridal outfit and jewellery.” What adds to their signature is that “we go above and beyond the usual preferences and tastes. We like to dive deep into personal elements to shape our body of work. I always ask about favourite places, travel, mutual love and of course memories, so the outcome is authentic and thoughtful, and layered with our signature touch,” Timmy goes on to add.
