Sherelle Singh married Rajveer Singh Sehangera on 25th June 2017 by the shores of Lake Como. She says: “We met through a friend, went on our first date in August 2016 and were engaged that October so to say it’s been a whirlwind romance is an understatement!
Rajveer proposed in Lake Como, somewhere I’d always wanted to visit. He got on bended knee right by the lake. My mum is a brilliant wedding planner so we organised it together with a lot of research and trips to Italy.”
The venue
“When Rajveer proposed, our future venue was right across the road – but we didn’t know it at the time! Villa Passalacqua is beautiful with stunning grounds and lots of space for our guests. We stayed the whole weekend, from Friday’s welcome party until we left for our honeymoon on Monday.”
The Anand Karaj
“We held our religious Sikh ceremony, the Anand Karaj, inside the Villa under a beautiful handmade structure dressed with pink drapes and fresh white flowers. We both wore coordinated traditional outfits from Chiffons London, which I had designed especially.”
The Registry
“I wore a beautiful full-length white lace gown with a fishtail skirt and a heavily embroidered veil. I wanted my bridal party to match the pretty surroundings, so they all wore full length bridesmaid dresses in mint with floral crowns to match. My bouquet was made by a Milanese company called Sheer Flowers.”

“I bought all my wedding jewellery from the amazing Red Dot Jewels in Pinner, London.”
Event themes
“The welcome party on Friday was Italian Riviera themed, with pizza and a BBQ buffet - very relaxed. For the traditional wedding I chose a vintage Maharani style and for the registry, a classic natural look. I’m so pleased with the results.”
The first dance
“The song that means a lot to us, and that made us both the most emotional, was my entrance song; A Thousand Years by Christina Perri. Our first dance song was James Arthur’s Say You Won’t Let Go.
It was an incredible moment; dancing with the love of my life under a starry Italian night sky. I’ll never forget it.”
The reception party
“I wanted a romantic, pretty reception in green, white and hints of gold. Since we had such a beautiful location, we had an outdoor structure put up that was entwined with ivy. It had open sides because I wanted to make the most of the incredible views. Lak Banwait from Maharaja was phenomenal in getting everything from the UK to Italy and ensuring everything went to schedule.”
“When it came to deciding the entertainment, I thought it would be fitting to tap into Italian culture, so we booked two opera singers from Milan. They were disguised as waiters, for an extra element of surprise for our guests! We partied all night, before leaving for our honeymoon in the morning.”
