Good hair is important, and never more so than before a special event, like your hen, mendhi or the wedding. Now there’s a cool new salon to ensure you, and your bridal brigade, leave looking your shiniest, bounciest best.
In a city packed with blow dry bars, Duck & Dry’s latest outpost in Oxford Circus rises head and shoulders above the rest thanks to its central London position and nest of Instagrammable accents – fresh flowers and plants, a swing chair made for group pics and faux ducks and birds softening the industrial aesthetic of the salon.
Add in friendly staff, a makeup bureau, nail bar and bottomless prosecco on Thursdays (yes please!) and it has all the makings of the ultimate pre-party pampering pad. 
There’s plenty of space to spread your wings with two rows of chairs facing well-lit mirrors housed in futuristic egg-shaped frames. Private parties have the option of booking a dedicated table (seating six) to enjoy bubbly and blow-dries together.
And the blow dries? Choose from a selection of eight styles (below) ranging from Va Va Voom (think red-carpet glam) to Fine Feathered, a catwalk-sleek look ideal for long hair. But if you have something more specific in mind, go off-menu and ask for a look that’s tailored to you.
I chose big, loose curls for my hair, which finishes just below the shoulders. The stylist took around half an hour to complete my blow dry, for a beautifully polished look that held all day and well into the evening.
