Need a break from food tastings and lehenga fittings? A quick spa escape doesn't have to mean traipsing hours away to a countryside retreat - you can find R&R right in the city.

Here's our pick of the most luxe spas London has to offer.

Located just three minutes from Harrods is the super-swanky Bulgari Hotel and spa. As you’d expect from a brand of this calibre, the spa offers the very best for body and spirit wellness.

At a massive 2000m², it's one of the largest and most exclusive spas in London. Decor is smooth and suave, just like the brand itself - think plenty of onyx, oak and Vicenza stone.

The two level spa includes a 25m swimming pool lined with green and gold mosaic as well as a vitality pool covered completely with gold leaf tiles. Then there’s a steam room, jacuzzi, ice showers and poolside cabanas to enjoy when you're not in one of the 11 private treatment rooms.

With a commanding position on London's South Bank, Mondrian London at Sea Containers has been making waves since it launched back in 2014. Head below deck and you'll discover the most glamorous spa in town - agua Bathhouse & Spa.

The lounge is all white walls, gauze curtains and sexy loungers gathered around a Dali-esque copper teardrop sculpture suspended from the ceiling. It's all a bit 70's looking, and certainly worth rounding up your hens for a pampering/ planning session.

agua uses some of the world's best brands including GLAMGLOW Mud, Ciate and Billion Dollar Brows, so we say push the boat out and indulge in head to toe preening. You deserve it!

The ESPA Life at this 5-star hotel is ginormous, spanning an incredible four floors. It's the brand's flagship branch and bills itself as ‘The Next Generation of Spa’. For once, it’s safe to believe the hype.

There’s 17 treatment rooms, an amphitheatre sauna with 360 degree views and sleep pods to snooze in post-treatment. As for the treatments, in spa this size, they're almost endless.

We tried the Bamboo Joint Release Experience, a 120-minute overhaul that begins with a foot ritual and ends with a scalp massage with body exfoliation, facial cleansing and a multitude of other invigorating treatments en route. Just the thing to help you depressurise from wedmin-linked stress!

Why spend hours battling traffic to reach to a countryside retreat when you can find the same sense of calm in the city? The rooftop spa at the Four Seasons at Park Lane offers a welcome respite for wedding-worn brides with the ultimate in pampering treatments.

For those times when one masseuse just won't do, opt for the Four Hands at Four Seasons experience, where two therapists work simultaneously to soothe tired muscles with bespoke body oil.

Or if you want to do something about that stubborn orange peel before the honeymoon, try the Green Coffee and Chilli Rescultping massage.

The Spa at Mandarin Oriental London offers everything from holistic treatments, heat and water facilities and Thai-style day beds.

Best of all are the amethyst crystal steam rooms which should leave you feeling ready to skip down the aisle. Give your complexion a kick start with the Linda Meredity Revive Oxygen facial. This treatment, perfect for those with dark under-eye circles or those with uneven skin tone, involves an oxygen serum to help rebuild damaged cells and plump your skin.
