Mehndi designs for the minimalist brideFor the brides who live by the ‘less is more' motto, Arabic mehndi is the way to go. The style entails bold strokes and several empty spaces for a stunning look. You can consider is delicate floral veil that runs from the wrist up to fingers. Or floral designs paired with jaal, and these can be different on both hands too. Brides who want to keep it low-key will also lean towards mandala designs. Minimal is not to say you have to give up on traditional Indian design. For a special shoot for Khush Wedding, Gurps created a gorgeous Indian mehndi for the back with criss-cross lines and flowers. When going under-stated, you can also opt for designs just on the fingers.
Mehndi designs for the OTT brideTime and again with her stunning designs, the eminent mehndi artist Gurps has proved that conventional Indian mehndi is apt not only for the bride who leans towards classic style but also even someone who wants to make a statement. Going the classic way will also allow you to replicate motifs on your lehenga as your henna designs. You can take the zardosi paisleys in your ensemble as the starting point. Then, there are tried-and-tested ideas like peacocks, jaal and jharokhas too. If you don’t mind being patient in the pursuit of perfection, go for an intricate all-over pattern with no gaps. Check out the design Gurps created for Khush Wedding’s latest issue as reference.
